I Trust in God
Psalm 118:8
8 It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.
Expectations
We place a lot of expectations on other people, don’t we? How? Well, we expect them to be kind and honest with us. We expect them to care about what we do and how we feel. We also expect them, if they are close to us, to show up for us when we need them the most and help us.
I know some of those things seem like reasonable expectations, and they are. The thing is, at one point or another everyone will let you down in some way. We are all imperfect human beings and that is just the way things go sometimes.
I will say that if it is a continuous thing from the same person you may want to reconsider whatever type of relationship you have established with that person. However, a one- or two-time occurrence isn’t usually a blatant disrespect.
I Trust in God
God is the only one we can trust wholeheartedly. He is the only person who will always show up for us, even when we are wrong. The only one who will never leave us and who always has our best interest at heart without some underlying selfish plot.
When we put our trust in God we will never be put to shame. Never!
People are just people. We were all born into sin and that gave us a selfish sinful nature. Each day, with each circumstance we have to choose to put others’ needs above our own. It’s not easy and we don’t always get it right. We might not always feel like we should. But we can be sure that God’s ways are better than our ways.

**Lord thank You for never leaving me and always helping me no matter what it looks like or what I have done. Help me to remember that while man may leave and disappoint me you never will. Remind me when they do fail me to have a heart of love and forgiveness knowing there are times, I too have failed others. Thank You Lord! In Jesus name I pray, Amen. **
