What Are You Thankful For?
1 Chronicles 16:34
New King James Version
34 Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.
What Are You Thankful For?
What are you thankful for? I’m sure we could all find a long list of things, but do we think about them throughout the rest of the year?
Thankfulness isn’t just a season, it’s a state of mind, a way of life. Those who choose to be thankful in all circumstances are the happiest people. Why? Because they are not focused on what they don’t have or what isn’t going right.
Turn The News Off
It makes me think about people who watch the news all of the time. They are so weighted down with things that are completely out of their control that they find themselves angry at people they don’t even know for reasons they can’t even understand.
Childlike
I love asking children what they are thankful for. Their precious little answers are so basic yet so profound. They are thankful for their homes and families and for food, water and clothing. I think we take such basic things for granted because we forget that there are so many out there in just our own communities that are lacking in those basic things.
So, I ask again this morning what are you thankful for? I challenge you, if you find yourself consumed with the state of our country, with your own circumstance or anything that is weighing you down, choose thankfulness and shift your focus. You will be glad you did.
1 Thessalonians 5:18, Psalm 107:1, Psalm 28:7
**Lord thank You for reminding me that thankfulness isn’t just a season, but a way of life. Help me to see every little thing in my life so I can give you thanks for it every day. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. **
