Open Doors
Ephesians 4:25-30 nkjv
25 Therefore, putting away lying, “Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor,” for we are members of one another. 26 “Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, 27 nor give [a]place to the devil. 28 Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need. 29 Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. 30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
Did You Know?
Did you know that even a Christian can be used by the enemy to attack another person? Did you know that you open yourself up for those attacks by the choices you make? They leave an open door or give him a foothold in your life?
How do you give him a foothold or leave a door cracked? There are lots of ways. If you are doing anything that the word of God says you shouldn’t do, you have given the enemy something to work with.
How?
Did you tell a lie? Has God convicted you personally about doing something and you are continuing to do it? Are you talking about people or their situations for any reason? Are you refusing to forgive someone, but pretending everything is just fine? Are you holding ugly feelings toward someone inside your heart? Maybe because you just don’t like them or something they are doing?
The list could go on and on really. Each of those things gives the devil the ammunition he needs to come after you. He will absolutely do it and use those around you to start the attack.
Unnecessary Attacks
So now you have to do some searching. We don’t want to deal with unnecessary attacks from the enemy. Sure, he will always find something to come after you with, but when you know you haven’t done anything wrong it’s much easier to fight against him because we know the things he says are lies, but when they are true…. It’s completely different.
Could there be anything within you that is allowing the enemy a foothold into your life? It’s worth checking up on.
1 Peter 5:8NKJV- 8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
**Lord thank You for reminding me that it’s the little things the enemy uses to find an open door into our lives. I ask that You show me every crack I have allowed him to use in his attacks against me and show me how to seal them up. I don’t want to give the devil any areas he can play around in. Help me, Lord. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. **
