Choose
Joshua 24:15 New King James Version
15 And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
Personal Choices
I have made a personal choice for myself to read the Bible all the way through starting this year. I came to a few chapters recently that, well to be honest, were boring me to tears. I went to my commentary in hopes it would shed light and why I needed to know exact amounts and sizes of the temple. There was no reason given.
Finally a bit frustrated, because I have a deep conviction to read His word from front to back, I said to God “do I really even need to know this stuff?” No sooner than I asked I flipped the page and saw a devotion titled “The Choice Is Yours”. Bam! Just like that the Lord reminded me I don’t have to do anything. I can choose not to read it and keep going. I can choose to ignore His Spirit pushing me to go deeper with Him. The choice is ultimately mine.
You Have A Choice
You have a choice to. You can choose to read His word and spend time in prayer or not. Choose to be fruitful each day or not. Every day we choose whether or not we are going to follow God even when no one is looking and none else will ever know the difference. You will know and so will God.
Serving God is a choice we make. Every single person on the face of this earth has been given free will. God will never force us to do anything. While people may try to push us in the direction they want us to go if we aren’t doing it because we want to, it won’t last.
One Day
One day we will all, individually, stand before God and give an account for the things we have said and done. All of the choices we made we will give an account for and then we will go to Heaven or Hell depending on the choices we have made.
Who and what will you choose today?
2 Corinthians 10:5, Luke 9:23, Galatians 5:22-26
**Lord thank You for reminding me that the choice to serve You is mine. Please forgive me for the times I haven’t chosen you and help me to do better in the future. God, today and everyday I choose You! In Jesus name I pray, Amen.**
