He has prayed for you.
Luke 22:31-32
31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: 32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.
Pay Attention
He has prayed for you! My Pastor recently gave a sermon on these scriptures. It was a very good sermon. But a few days later when I opened my Bible for some reading and study time “Luke 22” stuck out to me. I didn’t really know why. So, I started to read from verse 1. I’m ashamed to say that at the time it didn’t even cross my mind that Luke 22 was what Pastor had read out of just two days earlier, until I got to verse 31. I looked at my notes and realized it. I knew the Lord was speaking to me. If you hear something more than once in a short amount of time it’s a good idea to listen, in my opinion.
I read verses 31-32 and it was like He’d taken my arms and shook me to wake me up. “Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat;”.
So often when we go through trials we look at the book of Job. While that was a very drastic situation , and a good size chapter, I feel like these few words say all of that. Jesus really has a way with words doesn’t He?
Sincere Prayer
Immediately after reading that the Lord brought back everything our family has been through in the past few years and a seemingly small but actually very big prayer I prayed before it all happened. I prayed and asked God to keep me determined to stick with Him no matter what. I have a bad tendency of starting things and not finishing them. Usually craft projects , but I didn’t want my relationship with Him to be the same. I have known that He’d very much honored that prayer, and held on to me even when I was kicking and screaming, but reading this scripture made that knowing different, deeper, matured I guess you could say.
He Prayed For Me
He prayed for me. God allowed Satan to come, to sift me as wheat to get rid of the chaff in me. He prayed for me. He was faithful to me , to my prayer for determination and now, now that we are on the other side of that particularly huge, long lasting trial that was on display for everyone to see, I have to do my part. I have to strengthen my brethren.
God’s word wasn’t just for whoever He happened to be talking to in the Bible at that time. It’s for all of us, all of the time, in any and every situation we have now or will have in the future. His Word is a living Word and will go on long after we are gone.
He has Prayed for YOU!
HE has prayed for YOU. There is nothing we will ever face that He is not there with us. Anything put in front of us has to go through Him first. The enemy has to have permission to sift us as wheat. He has prayed for you. The King of Kings, Lord of Lords has prayed for YOU! You can and will make it through!!!
*** Prayer; Lord thank you! Thank you for praying for me! For never leaving me ! God I pray that you keep me determined to go all the way with you no matter what that takes. I pray for discernment and Godly wisdom in each situation I am faced with so that I may handle it the way you would have me to. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.****
