He’s Baiting You
Did you know that the enemy (the devil) cannot read your mind? He doesn’t know what you are thinking about anything. Sure, he puts lots of thoughts in your head, but you have the power to choose which thoughts stay and which ones have to go (2 Corinthians 10:5)!
Distractions
I found myself quite distracted this morning. It started small with little thoughts here and there about a person and a situation that really isn’t that big of a deal. Before I realized it I had rolled that thought around in my mind so much my feelings were changing.
As soon as I realized what was happening another one came right behind it and then another and another. Then it hit me. All of these thoughts were things I had already laid down, stepped over and left behind me.
It was like the Lord whispered to me “he’s trying to bait you”.
Choices
That was it!! The devil was trying to bait me with things that the blood has already been applied to. He couldn’t see what I was or wasn’t choosing to think about, but he could see that whatever he was doing wasn’t working.
The enemy watches us closely. Our attitudes, body language, facial expressions all of it just to see if he accomplished what he set out to do.
What is he trying to do to you today? Racing thoughts? Bringing up the past? You have been given power and authority over the enemy (Luke 10:19), and can shut him down the moment you realize what is going on.
You do not have to live defeated. Stand firm!
