Esther 4:14
14 For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”
For such a time as this.
Preparing for Battle
This morning while dropping my oldest off we approached the flagpole of his high school. There was a very large group of teenagers standing in a circle holding hands. I asked what they were doing, and then it dawned on me. They were all praying together. Not only did I see kids, but there was at least one parent and a football coach as well. While I sat there feeling my heart swell, another student walked by holding his Bible. I had to hold back tears as I watched these young people stand up and prepare for battle. Whether they know it or not, that is exactly what they were doing.
For Such a Time as This
We all worry about our children. We want them to be safe, to make good choices and have the right kind of friends. As I watched all of these kids pray it shook something deep inside of me, and the Lord repeated in my heart something He has been telling me for quite some time. They were made for such a time as this!
No Accident
Each generation has a new worry. Every day the world gets more evil, and we come closer and closer to Jesus’s return. God’s not surprised by how bad things have gotten. He knew our children before they were even in our womb. The times He has chosen these particular children to live in was not an accident.
Train them up
As parents it is our job to lead them in the way they should go. Taking your kids to church, a bible based church, is imperative, but you know what is even more important than that? Living a righteous life before them. Teaching the Bible at home, teaching them how to pray, having discussions and helping them understand how the Word relates to where they are at right now. They need to see us handling hard things God’s way, and they need to see us being good to each other and helping one another. Their peers , the things they watch will show them what the world is doing, what the world wants. Show them who God is and what He can do.
Proverbs 22:6, 1 Peter 2:9, Philippians 4:6
** God thank you for watching over my children. Thank you for protecting them and preparing them for such a time as this! Help me to train them the way you would have me to and lead them in the way they should go. I thank you and praise you for everything you have done and are about to do in their lives, Lord. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. **
