The Backup Plan

Proverbs 3:5-6

5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;

6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

The Back-up Plan

The back up plan. Do you have a backup plan when you pray? You tell God what’s going on. You ask for His help but in the back of your mind you are still trying to find your safety net for “just in case”.  I know I have done it at times as I’m sure, if you were honest, you’d say you have to.  Can I tell you something? That safety net, the backup plan you are planning is not what you think it is.

Are You Asking or Telling Him?

When we pray and ask God for something, what we are really doing, most of the time, is telling Him how we want Him to do something for us.  We want it to happen this way and we want this outcome.  The truth is God can see the beginning, the end and the middle of every situation we will ever face. He knows what is best for us and everyone else involved. No matter what’s going on there are more people involved than just us.

What Do You Want?

Now the question is do we want what we want, or do we want what God wants for us? His ways are higher, better, than our ways. He knows what we need and when we need it more than we do.  He also knows how what we are asking for will affect us, and others, ten years from now.

Trust In God

Trust in God. His way, His timing. Trust in Him and He will direct your paths and give you the desires of your heart.

Isaiah 46:9-10, Isaiah 55:8-9, Psalm 37:4

***Lord thank you for knowing me better than I know myself.  I ask that you give me Godly desires and the wisdom to know that you always want what is best for me and sometimes what I want isn’t the same thing.  God I trust in You. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.***
