Fiery Trials
Deuteronomy 8:2
2 And you shall remember that the Lord your God led you all the way these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you and test you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not.
Where Are You?
What is it you are going through right now? Maybe you are in the middle of it , or have just come out on the other side. Maybe you are just getting started and have no idea what lies ahead. In this life, there will come a point when you go through a life changing experience. When I say life changing, I don’t just mean having a baby or a loved one passing. While those experiences can be that particular thing, sometimes it’s much more. The make you or break you kinds of things.
Choices
When we come to that place we have two choices. The first choice is to spend the rest of this trial feeling sorry for ourselves and allowing it to make us bitter, angry and hard to be around. The second choice is to submit yourself and your life to God. Being a Christian doesn’t mean you will automatically know how to handle every situation thrown at you, but it does mean that you know exactly who to go to.
New Habits
Allow your trial to create new habits. Habits of prayer and study time. Habits of talking to God all day, on a regular basis. Create a family study time. There are many things within ourselves that we could all stand to change, and more often than not, when we are faced with a difficult trial, instead of looking inward through God and seeing what we can change about ourselves, we focus on those around us. What are they doing wrong?
He will never leave You
The choices we make during a trial will determine what happens next in our lives. Let whatever you are going through have a positive effect on your life and the lives of those around you. No matter how awful it may seem, or how long it goes on, God has never left you and never will. Let this fiery trial turn you into the person God always meant for you to be.
1 Peter 4:12-16, Ephesians 2:10, 2 Corinthians 12:9
**God, thank You for never leaving me. I trust You Lord to get me through this trial. Help me to be better than I was before, to handle this the right way so I can come out on the other side ready to be an example to others and help them through it. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.**
