Just trust Him
Psalm 34:18
18 The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart,
And saves such as have a contrite spirit.
My heart is heavy this morning. As I think about those I love and the things they are going through I can’t help but wonder where God is in all of these things. I know for a fact He’s there, but I just don’t understand.
I have questions. Why are You allowing people to be attacked by the enemy when You know they will do what You ask no matter what? Why are precious innocent children allowed to be hurt? I know God is good and He doesn’t cause these things to happen, but I can’t help but roll the same word over in my mind. Why? Just Why?
Why?
Have you ever felt like that? Have you ever been presented with a situation or watched someone you love go through something and all you can say is why? I don’t think God gets angry with us for asking why. Honestly, I think maybe He is glad that we are turning to Him for answers with things we can’t understand rather than going somewhere else or being angry with Him.
You Can’t Change the Past
The thing is, we can’t get hung up on the why of anything. We live in a world full of sin. People do horrible things, because they allow themselves to be influenced by the devil. Never forget change is possible! Healing is available through Jesus! We cannot change things that have happened in the past. We can’t take away the hurt of someone we love, but we can make ourselves available to God to be used in the healing process, if He so chooses.
Prayer Changes Things
Prayer changes things. Allow God to speak to your heart while you are asking Him why. Most likely you will not get the answer to your why, but it can bring you closer to Him.
Psalm 145:18, Romans 8:28, Matthew 6:33
**Lord, help me to look to you for the things I just don’t understand. Help those who are hurting because You are the only one who can. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. **
