Choose Joy

Choose Joy

Romans 15:13

13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Choose Joy

Sometimes we think that our joy is dependent on our circumstances or how we wake up feeling, but our joy is a choice we make every single day. When we choose peace and unity over the thoughts that the enemy places into our minds, we are choosing joy. When we choose not to speak about the things that we are feeling and instead take that time to thank God for literally anything we are choosing joy.

Helping Others

How do you feel when you help other people? When you are able to meet a need they have whether it be food, money or even something as simple as being a friend when they need one it feels amazing doesn’t it?

We get more joy from helping others and meeting their needs than we do from focusing on ourselves. We also have more joy when, instead of worrying about what we don’t have or focusing on what’s going wrong, we choose to be thankful in all things.

Is Your Joy Missing?

You may be in a place where it seems like your joy is gone and has been for a long time. Take some time and shift your focus to helping others. It will take your mind off of your circumstance and allow God to help you while you are helping someone else.

Matthew 6:1-4, Philippians 4:12-13, Galatians 5:22-23

**Lord, thank you for reminding me that what joy I have is my choice. I ask that you continue to remind me and give me an opportunity to help someone else. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.**
