What’s First?
Matthew 6:33
33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
We all have a lot going on. Work, kids, church stuff the list goes on and on. There are so many things that we are told need our “undivided” attention. It becomes quite overwhelming to know what to put first when. Our priorities, if we want them kept in order, change frequently.
What’s First?
There is one thing that doesn’t change on that list of priorities though. Keeping God first, at the top of that list, never changes, or at least it shouldn’t.
Where Is He?
If we want peace. If we want things to run smoothly, seeking God and His ways must come first. I’ll be the first to admit there are times when I unknowingly slide Him down on the list and then wonder what is going on because things seem to be a little off and it all becomes a little harder to manage than before. If we are honest it happens to all of us.
We Can Fix It
The good thing is when we find ourselves in that place all we have to do is go to Him and get things back right. Ask for forgiveness and put God back in His rightful place in your life, first.
When God is first everything else falls into its proper place and the things that aren’t meant to be there fall off the list.
1 Chronicles 16:11, 2 Chronicles 7:14, Hebrews 11:6
**Lord thank You for revealing to me when my priorities get a little out of whack. Thank You for your loving kindness and forgiveness when I need to repent and make things right. I ask that You never stop showing me when I need to readjust. I can’t make it without You Lord. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. **
