Oil change

Romans 12:2

2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

I Didn’t Listen

I had a riding lawnmower once and got on to cut one day. It kept shutting off over and over and I felt something telling me, “Oil, oil” repeatedly. Sadly, I didn’t not listen to what I now know was the Holy Ghost telling me to put oil in it. I got halfway around the yard, heard a loud pop and saw something fly far. Turns out that something was the whole side of the motor. All because I didn’t add the oil.  A very costly mistake.

You Are Anointed

 If you are saved God has anointed, you to do great works. He has given you gifts and talents, but without His oil, His anointing, those gifts and talents are useless and whatever you try to do without it will wind up something similar to that lawnmower motor. He will not dwell in an unclean vessel, so from time to time we need to make sure we are checking in with God. When you don’t change the oil in a car the filter gets nasty and clogged and if you wait way too long that oil turns to sludge and cannot flow smoothly and do what it is intended to do.

Does your oil filter need changing this morning? Do you need fresh oil poured inside of you? Have you unknowingly allowed the world to creep into your thoughts and clog things up? Take it all to God. Ask Him to show you anything you have allowed to “gum up the works”. It won’t always be a quick 10-minute oil change but if you are sincere in your repentance and ask for His help, He will always be there.

**God thank You for reminding me to freshen things up. Thank You for Your mercy and understanding Lord. Please show me anything inside of me that needs to be worked on or thrown out and help me to do it Lord. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. **
