Be Quiet
Psalm 16:8
8 I have set the Lord always before me;
Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.
A Million Things
Every day we have a million things that need our attention and things we would rather focus our attention on. All those things put together can be pretty overwhelming and cause us to become frustrated and show a not so Christian attitude if we are not careful.
I’ll be honest, I woke up this morning completely annoyed. There are a few things going on that I don’t particularly like, but have to deal with. I can see the devil using people and situations trying to get a rise out of me. Have you ever been there? If we were honest, we all have.
I am thankful the Lord has allowed me to recognize the enemy at work, but it sure is hard to do what I know I’m supposed to, rather than what I’d actually like to do. Which is to call it right out.
Be Quiet
But that’s the thing isn’t it. Sometimes we aren’t meant to address every little thing. There is a time for everything. A time to speak and a time to listen.
I think we have been trained to think, by the world, that if we sit back quietly when something we don’t like, or know to be wrong, is going on we are giving people a free pass to do as they please, or it makes us look weak, or even worse (in our minds) we don’t have control. That is absolutely not true and is a lie from the enemy to get you to make a fool of yourself.
It takes more strength and maturity to sit back, pray, keep a good attitude, and remain silent when you really want to call everything out. There are times when God wants us to stand up and speak, but we should be absolutely sure we are following His leading and not pretending it’s the Lord when It’s really our own selfish desires doing the leading.
James 1:5, Ephesians, 6:12, Hebrews 12:2, Psalm 1:3
**Lord thank You for giving me the wisdom and discernment to know when to speak and when to listen. God please don’t ever let me lose those things. I ask that you help me walk through this day in the way you would have me to. In a way that glorifies You. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. **
