I hate a liar
John 8:42-45
42 Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I come of Myself, but He sent Me. 43 Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word. 44 You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. 45 But because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me.
I Hate a Liar
I think at one point or another we have all said the words “I hate a liar” or “I can’t stand a liar”. It’s true! Being around someone who just won’t tell the truth can be infuriating. They fill the air with pointless words and waste time because nothing they say is of any value.
You cannot depend on someone who lies all the time. There is definitely no room for any kind of trust between you and someone who does nothing but lie.
Lies cause confusion. They are hurtful and they start a lot of problems. Whether you are at home, school, church work or in any kind of relationship lies cause chaos.
Honesty
We all want to surround ourselves with those who are honest. Those who don’t hide things or make up stories about anything that comes to mind. Life is better when we have people around, we can trust.
For the most part that is pretty much the way we all look at things. Which begs the question: why do we allow ourselves to be wrapped up with the devil so often if we cannot stand a liar or a thief or someone who causes trouble all of the time?
His Word Is the Truth
If we are not living by God’s whole word, which is the truth, then we are choosing the devils ways. Plain and simple. I know most would probably give excuses as to why that wouldn’t be true, but God’s Word says you cannot serve two master’s because you will love one and hate the other. What does that mean? It means that if you are not living by what God’s word says and His ways, you are following evil, the enemy.
Take A Look
Let’s take time today to examine what we are following and what we are believing in every aspect of our lives. If you find there are some changes you need to make that does not mean you are an evil person. It means you need to spend some time with God, repent, turn away from those things going forward and ask God for forgiveness. That’s how you get back on the right track.
God knows we are not perfect, but when things are brought to our attention that need to change it’s our responsibility to take the next step.
John 10:10, Matthew 6:24, Revelation 3:13-16
**God thank You for Your loving conviction. Please show me any areas where I need to make a change to come in line with what You Word says. Lord forgive me for the things I have done that are not pleasing to You and help me to turn from them for good. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.**
