Peace

Peace

Romans 12:18

18 If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.

Peace

Peace. It’s something we all want in every area of our lives. We want peace of mind. Peace in our hearts. Peace in all of our relationships, but what do we have to do to attain that peace we so badly want to have?

There are many scriptures in the Bible that talk about peace but trusting God and minding your own business are two places to start.

How do you do that?

I think often times we get wrapped up in how we want others to change. We worry about how a situation will work out. If that bill will get paid or if our loved one will make it to heaven.

In those instances, we have to trust that God knows what is best and how to make things right. We have to learn to lay whatever the issue is, at His feet in prayer and not pick it back up and try to do it ourselves. That is definitely one way to have peace.

He Doesn’t Need Help

When we constantly try to do God’s job for Him because we think we know how it needs to be done all we are doing is getting in His way and becoming a hindrance for whatever the need is.

Then there is the matter of minding your own business. I think sometimes when we care deeply about people and their lives, we unknowingly interject ourselves in places we don’t belong. That causes chaos which is the opposite of peace.

There are times when those people bring you into their business, but it would be best to remember that even if they do, step back unless you are specifically asked to do a certain thing.

It’s been my experience that while people don’t mind telling you what’s going on in their lives, they mean for you to stand back and listen and for the most part not become physically or emotionally involved. It’s quite difficult, but necessary for your peace and theirs.

His word tells us to seek peace, to pursue it. It’s easier said than done but necessary for your spiritual growth and any relationship.

Psalm 34:14, Philippians 4:6-7, Matthew 5:9

**Lord thank You for Your word that gives me direction in every area of my life. I ask for the wisdom, knowledge and discernment to know what to do and when to do it. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. **
