Just Ask
1 John 1:9
9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Don’t Complicate It
I think we complicate receiving forgiveness from God. We think it’s this long draw out process with some big dramatic show. That’s just not accurate.
When I gave my heart to God I was sitting in a swing in my back yard alone. I realized that how I was living my life just wasn’t working and I most definitely needed help. I didn’t have a clue what I was doing but I knew enough to know that if I asked, God would help me.
So right there on that swing I asked God to come into my heart, into my life. I asked Him to forgive me for all the things I had done, and trust me there was a whole list. Thankfully I didn’t have to go down that list one line at a time. He already knew it all. Then I asked Him to help me.
Want to know what happened next? He did everything I asked Him to.
Mistakes Happen
We make mistakes, a lot of them. We tend to think that we know exactly how we want our lives to be only to find out we didn’t have a clue what we were doing and wind up in somewhat of a mess.
God doesn’t ask you to be perfect. He doesn’t ask for you to figure everything out. All He asks is that you come to Him and be willing to do things different than you have been.

**Lord thank You for Your forgiveness that cleanses and refreshes me. I ask that You open my eyes to the areas I need to change and help me to make that change. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.**
