Ask & Believe
Mark 9:23
23 Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” 24 Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!”
Several times throughout the Bible when someone needed something from Jesus they had to do two things.
First, they had to ask Him for it. Then they had to believe that He could and would do it.
What Do You Want?
Years ago, during a really great church service our Pastor said if you want something from God come stand up front. Then He asked those who could and would come stand behind us and pray.
My friend stood behind me and prayed like her life depended on it. Tears flowing, she stopped, turned me around and said “What do you want? God said tell Him what you want”. So, I did. I wanted my husband to be saved and that’s exactly what I said.
It didn’t happen that night, or even the next day or the next year, but it did eventually happen . God did what I asked.
Help My Unbelief
Were there times over those years that I didn’t believe it would happen? Absolutely but just like the man in these scriptures I had to pray and ask God to help my unbelief because I did want to believe. Like so many others I allowed what things looked like to cloud what I knew God could do.
What do you want from God today? Do you want Him to heal you or someone you love? Do you want Him to heal your finances? Whatever it is you want Him to do for you just ask Him and believe that He can and will do it.
God Is Not Limited
God is not bound by any limitations like we are and He does not measure time in the same way we do. When you ask God for whatever it is, be patient with His timing and obedient to Him and His word. If necessary, and if you truly believe He is who He says He is, ask Him to help your unbelief.
Matthew chapter 8 & 9
**Lord, thank You for hearing me when I pray. Thank you for loving me and caring about all the things I care about. I lay all of my worries at your feet today and ask that you do what only you can Lord, in Jesus name I pray, Amen. **
