Wise or Foolish- A Godly Wife Pt.4
Proverbs 14:1
14 The wise woman builds her house, But the foolish pulls it down with her hands.
Women Are Powerful
As women we have more power in our home than we realize. Our husbands are the spiritual leaders of our homes. It is our responsibility to respect, uplift, and help them, but we do a lot more than we think. We have to power to build up or tear down our entire family.
While each home is different in the way they do things, the structure that pleases God is laid out in His word. If we wish to have functional, peaceful, God honoring lives, and homes, we should live as His word instructs.
Life & Death
Proverbs 18:21 says that life and death are in the power of the tongue. We can build up our home, our families, with the words we choose to speak, or we can tear them down. We can encourage our husbands, and teach our children, or we can make them feel like nothing more than burdens to us.
The things we do are important, but I believe what we say is even more powerful in some instances. Are we speaking life into our family, or are we allowing ourselves to be consumed with everything negative because it’s what we see? Are our words filled with faith and hope and scriptures, or are they filled with snarky comments, grumblings and a poor attitude?
Make The Choice to Change
This series has been powerful and very close to my heart. God has walked me back through mistakes I’ve made in the past and prompted me to share my experiences in hopes at least one person, hopefully many more, out there can be helped. We don’t know what we don’t know.
We are all a work in progress. If we will allow God to change us, and be willing to do our part, we can live amazing peace filled lives that have the potential to minister to others. Whether we realize it or not, our daily lives are one of the most powerful ministries we have. People want to know where we have come from when they see where we are now. Why? Because they are dying to know that there is hope for their marriage, and their family.
Let God Work
Allow God to do what only He can do, so your testimony can help someone else.
I pray that as a woman, a wife and/or a mother you take the time to read over these writings and dive into the scriptures while letting God speak to you. Allow Him to turn you into who He created you to be and watch Him give you the desires of your heart.
Ephesians 5:22-33, Colossians 3:18, 1 Peter 3:1-6
**Lord, thank You for helping me see the things within myself that I needed to change in order to be who You have created me to be. Please, always convict me when I say or do anything displeasing to You and help me to get it right. I love You Lord and I am excited to see where this journey goes. I pray that I can help others with everything You have shown me. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. **
