Ephesians 5:20
20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
A Thankful Heart
Several years ago, I found myself dreading the same morning routine. My kids were younger then, so I had to do everything. Helping pick out clothes, make sure teeth were brushed, fixing hair, everything. It was quite overwhelming sometimes being I also had to make sure I was ready for work, and everyone had breakfast all before 7:20 am.
Thank Him
One morning before my eyes even opened the Lord impressed upon me to start thanking Him for my children. Every morning before I did anything else. I was thankful for them. They are in good health. They are kind, smart, God loving beautiful children. Why shouldn’t I thank God for that? I began to notice that the mornings I remembered to thank Him for them ran much more smoothly.
Life Changes
Fast forward to a few years later. Things in our life had changed and I was adjusting to a new schedule with my husband. Change is very difficult for me, and I found myself becoming agitated with not doing things the way I was used to. Quickly God reminded me about being thankful. I am very thankful for my husband, words can’t even describe, but I was not taking that thanks to the Lord. Once I did, again, things began to come a lot easier.
Truly Blessed
The point here is we should actively thank God every single day for everything. It may seem like it’s hard, but it’s really not. If you look deep inside and realize how blessed you truly are to have your spouse, your home, your children, your job all the things we tend to take for granted, thanking God with absolute sincerity won’t be hard at all.
A thankful heart is a happy heart.
1 Thessalonians 5:18, Psalm 107:1, Psalm 69:30
**Lord thank You for everything. I know that all I have is a blessing from You that I will always cherish. Thank You for keeping me on track when I tend to veer off. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. **
