As I Have Loved You
John 13:34-35-
34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.35 by this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.
God’s Love for You
As I have loved you. I want you to think for a moment of God’s love for you. I want you to think about all the times He has forgiven you. All the times you had a bad day and were pretty awful, and He said just try again tomorrow. Think about all of the times He got you out of messes you created on your own. All the times He showed up when everyone else left. He does all of that because He loves you!
As I Have Loved You
Now, I want you to think about the last time you held a grudge against someone because they were having a bad, and got an attitude with you, or blew up out of frustration. How many people you avoided because someone else said something bad about them.
I will be the very first one to say that loving others, as Jesus loves us, is not easy. To be honest unless we seek Him and ask for His help it’s pretty impossible. We can’t love someone like He has loved us with our own human flesh. We would be foolish to think otherwise. Walking in the Spirit means that we are led by the Holy Ghost and given the grace and power we need to do what we have been called to do.
You Are Called
Every single person is called to love one another like Jesus loves us. We are all called to be kind. To be forgiving , even when we really don’t want to. I know any time the Lord has forgiven me it has been completely my fault and I am the one who needs to get it together and change some things. But, He still forgave me and allowed me the chance to try again.
Remember, everything His word says about you, applies to others as well. Love one another as He has love you.
Matthew 18:21-22, 1 John 1:9, Romans 2:11
***God thank you for loving me. For forgiving me time and time again no matter how badly I’ve messed up. Lord, I ask that you fill me with your spirit so I may be led by you and not my own selfish ways and desires. Help me to see people the way you do that I may be more compassionate rather than aggravated. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.***
