Choices
Joshua 24:15
15 And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the river, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
Choices
Life is full of daily choices. We choose what to wear and what to eat. We choose whether or not we want to go to work. We also make a choice about the kind of behavior we are going to put out in the world that day.
You choose to wear a seatbelt, stop at a red light and not pull out in front of people because you know what the consequences are. Why then is it so hard for us to choose to serve God? It is after all our own choice.
Eternity
When we choose not to serve God, we are choosing to spend eternity in Hell. If you believe in Heaven then you have to believe in Hell, just as believing in God means there is a devil. Choosing not to believe doesn’t mean they are not real though.
The choices we make every day are not always easy and we don’t always feel like making the right ones, but just as we choose to wake up and go to work and the days we really don’t want to, we can make a choice to serve God every day.
Pros vs Cons
There is not a pros and cons list when deciding to serve the Lord. Leaving behind things that weigh you down, things that do not yield good results over time is not exactly a “con”. So, choose you this day whom you will serve. Your eternity depends on it.

**Lord thank You for giving me the free will to make my own choices. Help me to always choose you even on the days I don’t feel like I can. Remind me Lord that the choices I make now will determine where I spend eternity. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. **
