Do You Believe?
Romans 10:9
9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
This question came across my mind this morning. Do you believe? We live our lives in a way that is comfortable for us most of the time, but does how we are living line up with how God’s word instructs us to live?
It’s Simple
His word is not some puzzle that has to be mastered. It’s so simple a child could understand it right? That’s what they say. I think the more we allow ourselves to be engulfed into the things of this world, the views, concepts it makes the simplicity of the Bible a little clouded in our minds.
If we see ten adults believing the same exact thing and saying the same exact thing we are inclined to believe them no matter what we know God’s word says aren’t we?
Put God First
We need to get back to putting God first in everything we say, think and do. When you spend time in prayer you are solidifying that close personal relationship with God. The trust you will have for Him in that close personal relationship will make it harder for the lies of the world to get between you.
Reading God’s Word has to be a priority if you are planning to maintain that relationship. If you don’t know what God’s word says and you don’t know its proper context then anyone can tell you anything and if it sounds good enough you will believe it, because after all if ten or more adults on the internet say it’s true it won’t be long before you start to believe that lie.
What Do You Believe?
What do you believe today? Do you believe in God? Do you believe that He sent His only son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins? Do you believe Jesus was resurrected on the third day? And do you believe that He is standing in the gap between you and His father interceding for you?
If you believe all of those things, you will be saved. If you believe all of those things then it’s not so farfetched to believe in everything else His word says now, is it?
God loves you and only wants good things for your life. Allow Him to do a work in you by taking the steps needed for your part.
Acts 16:13, Hebrews 11:6, John 20:31
** Lord thank You for always making a way, for never giving up on me no matter how far I try to run away. God, I ask that you come into my heart right now. Live in me, help me to be more like you and less like me. Forgive me for my past sins and help me to do better in the future Lord. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. **
