Freewill
Galatians 5:13
13 For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
What is Liberty?
What does liberty mean? The freedom to do what you want. I know when most people think of Christianity, they think of this long list of things they aren’t allowed to do anymore. That’s not true. God gives you the freedom to make your own choices. The results of those choices, however, are set on you alone.
Do What You Want
God will never force someone to do things His way. His Word has laid out very clearly the rewards we can expect to receive if we follow His commandments. It also says very clearly the repercussions for choosing not to follow them.
For Our Good
I think sometimes people believe the aftereffects we have to choose from aren’t fair, but in all honesty if one were to truly read the Word of God, His commandments, His guide for living a fruitful life are in no way harmful to us. As a matter of fact, every command He gives is for our own good.
He Loves Us
It’s important to take the time to read and study God’s Word. Allow Him to open your eyes to see that His ways are only for our good and because He loves us. We would never give our children selfish commandments that led them toward the path of destruction. We would never want bad things for our kids. He doesn’t either.
1 Corinthians 10:13, James 1:17, Proverbs 7:1-3
**Lord thank You for giving me freedom. Freedom from the weight of sin that once had me bound, freedom from the thoughts and opinions of others. I pray for Your perfect will over my life. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. **
