Proverbs 16:2-3
2 All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes,
But the Lord weighs the spirits. 3 Commit your works to the Lord,
And your thoughts will be established.
God knows your heart.
True Intentions
Let’s be honest. More often than not when we hear someone say “God knows my heart” they are really just trying to find a way to justify wrong behavior. Not always, but most of the time. God really does know the true intention of our heart.
He knows when something we have said, that we meant in a good way, gets misinterpreted, and another person’s feelings get hurt. God also knows when we smile and say I love you to someone we just talked trash about.
He Knows The Truth
This scripture tells us that while we may think what we do is right, God knows why we are really doing it, even if we don’t. The good news is, if we submit ourselves and our thoughts to God, if we do everything as if we were doing it for the Lord, and not for any other reason or person. Then He will direct our thoughts in such a way our motives will be pure.
Do as Unto The Lord
Clean your house as if the Lord was coming over for dinner. Pick up that piece of trash in the parking lot as if that was God’s parking lot. Smile at the customer as if he or she were God Himself. Everything you do throughout the day can be done as if you were doing it for the Lord.
Colossians 3:23, James 4:7, 1 Corinthians 10:31
***Lord, thank you for your correction. Thank you for loving me so much as to bring things to my attention and helping me make them right. God, help me to always be mindful about my true motives no matter what I am doing. Guide my thoughts Lord so that my motives will be pure and pleasing to you. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. ***
