He is faithful.
Matthew 22:32
32 ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.”
Why do you think the Word says this? I was listening to a song this morning and the lyrics said this.
“The God of our fathers was faithful to them
Over and over they trusted in Him
We stand on their shoulders
And carry the flame
He’s been faithful before
He’ll be faithful again”
(Don’t fight Alone by John Reddick)
I’ve heard that song many times and I absolutely love it, but until this morning I hadn’t really let those few words sink in. Once they did, I could not contain the burning I felt in my Spirit.
He is faithful
We read the Word of God for help, for guidance. We want the Lord to speak to us, but I think sometimes we don’t truly soak in what we have been given. His Word is living! If we look at what he did for Abraham, Isaac & Jacob and all the rest we will see His faithfulness! We will know without a doubt that nothing is impossible or too hard for Him.
We Have Hope
I think the fact that we view these more as “stories” or even “history”, that we never experienced personally, blinds us to the true reason it’s in the Bible. To give us hope! For evidence of His faithfulness in the past!
Read Your Word
Read your Word. Soak it all in and allow the Lord to speak to you. Take time to be silent in His presence so you can better understand just what He is trying to say.
Romans 2:11, Hebrews 4:12, Psalm 119:90, Luke 1:37
**God, thank You for Your living, Word that You have given to us. Thank You for reminding me to look deeper into it for understanding. Help us, Lord. Help us to truly see what You want for us. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. **
