It Matters

It Matters

Revelation 22:18-19 New King James Version

18 For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; 19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Moses

When I read these words, I think about Moses and what kept him from being able to enter into the promised land. He walked in the wilderness 40 years the same as everyone else. He depended on God and He led the Israelites as God instructed. However, Moses added to the Lord’s instructions. Instead of holding his staff over the rock and speaking as he was told, out of frustration Moses hit the rock.

Don’t Add or Take Away

God meant what He said when over and over in His word He told us to not add anything to or take anything away from His words, His commandments. There are no exceptions in which He listed that it was ok to mix interpretations and present them to others. There was nowhere in there it said we could give partial obedience to what He has instructed us to do. As a matter of fact, there are several instances in the Bible where we are shown that partial obedience is still disobedience, and His word says that disobedience is as the sin of witchcraft.

Following God’s word and His instructions is not always easy, but if He tells you to say or do something He has already made a way and given you everything you need to do so.

Every Word Matters

We must be mindful to keep to the original wording and meaning of what is written in His word. Sometimes changing one word can twist the entire thing around and not only will you be taking yourself in the wrong direction, but it is possible you will take others down with you. Their blood will be on your hands.

Be careful of the many interpretations of God’s word that are out there. Just because the word “Bible” is on the front doesn’t mean that is what He said. The King James Version is the truth. I know some might argue differently but seek the Lord. Ask Him to guide you on what is best. Not which is easier for you to understand, but which has the full truth in it.

Deuteronomy 4:2 New King James Version

2 You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.

**Lord thank You for reminding me how serious it is to add and take away from Your written words. I ask for the discernment to recognize when the truth is not being told and the wisdom to know what to do once You show me. Give me the boldness and determination to walk in full obedience to what You ask of me Lord. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. **
