With today’s technology we have a way of staying in constant communication with pretty much everyone. 

There’s email, facetime, social media outlets that all have private messaging features, plain text messages and of course good old fashioned phone calls. 

At any given moment we can track someone’s location or just send a quick text asking where they are. We can even send pictures at any time from any place. 

The possibilities are endless. 

Communication With God

What about communication with God? From the beginning we have had an open line to communicate with Him at any time we want. No charger or Wi-Fi needed. 

Makes me think of an old song we used to sing in church “Jesus on the mainline, tell Him what you want” 

This scripture tells us that we should pray without ceasing, meaning we should stay in constant communication with God. Be aware of His presence and talk to Him. We have no problem getting on a phone call and spending an hour talking about things that really aren’t even that important. 

We don’t have to wait until we “want” something or until there is something big going on in our lives before we talk to God. 

Talk To Him

Talk to Him throughout your day the way you would anyone else. He loves you and wants to be included in every area of your life. Sure, He may see and know all but just because we know what’s going on with our own children doesn’t mean we don’t want the closeness of them bringing it to us. 

Go Deeper

Take a step toward a deeper, more intimate relationship with God today. Spend more time than usual just talking to Him like a friend, including Him in your thoughts, feelings and everyday life. 

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, Ephesians 6:18, Jeremiah 29:12

**Lord, thank You for the gift of prayer. A way to stay in constant communication with You. I ask that you nudge me throughout the day to spend a few minutes here and there just talking and spending time with you Lord. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. **
