Learning Experience

Learning Experience

Proverbs 1:7

7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Every opportunity can be a learning experience you didn’t expect, if you open yourself up to it.

I recently had a teaching opportunity that I was excited, and a little nervous about. I had done it before, but the previous day I had gotten “a word”. Believing that “word” to be from God I was really excited.

Don’t Be Discouraged

After the class was through, I was completely discouraged for several reasons we won’t go into. I wanted to run out and cry. I sulked about it all day long until it was like the Lord smacked me upside the head. He has to do that a lot actually. But He reminded me not to be discouraged. Because He called me to do something, and if I didn’t let something that seemed like a setback, which actually wasn’t by the way, cause me to get down and be slack and if I would continue to push forward, I would see that “word” I got come to pass.

Keep Pushing

I pushed on, and all throughout the next day. I had to fight the thoughts the enemy was trying to place in my mind. It seemed like one thing after another until finally it was like a light went off and the Lord showed me everything, He wanted to teach me in that 45-minute class that didn’t have a single thing to do with the lesson I studied and taught.

Learning a Lesson

There are times God puts us in places, and we think we know what’s going on only to find out it was something completely different. I thought I was teaching a class. I thought I was learning whatever that lesson was about, but no. God was showing me, teaching me so much more. He was teaching me how to behave in what He has called me to do.

God will use people in your life to give you loving, constructive criticism. He will put you in places to teach you lessons that will make you fruitful in what He has called you to do.

Embrace every opportunity God gives you humbly and with a teachable heart and mind so you can receive all that He has for you.

Proverbs 2:1-6, 2 Timothy 2:15, 2 Timothy 3:16

**Lord thank You for the opportunities you have set before me. I ask that You keep me in a humble place, in my heart and in my mind Lord that I may receive all the instruction You are trying to give me. Help me not to be blinded by my own thoughts and feelings. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. **
