Prayer changes things
Philippians 4:6
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
Pray, Pray, Pray!
I, like everyone else, have faced many different situations throughout life. Some good and some bad. I have found that no matter what it is, prayer can work wonders.
We worry about our children, our families, our jobs, bills, health the list could go on and on. God’s word says we cannot add anything to our lives by worrying. It also tells us to pray.
Time To Go
I recall a time years ago before I even had children. I had been living in a small trailer in a not-so-great area. It was my first place all on my own, so I was proud of it, but it was not fitting for a young single woman.
A new town home complex was in the process of being built on the other side of town. It was so new in fact that you had to fill out handwritten applications and mail them to another state.
There was no confirmation that my application even made it where I sent it to. Nothing. I got down on my knees and prayed and asked God for that home. I felt in my spirit that He was going to grant what I had asked.
Over the next few weeks, I slowly packed all of my belonging into totes that stayed stacked around that old trailer for close to a year.
Winter became summer and I had family from another state come in to visit. They saw the totes and asked what I was doing. Once I told them and was sure to tell them I prayed and I knew what God said, it was clear they thought I was crazy. They even laughed at me.
But the very next day, and I mean the very next day I got a phone call. Not only had the company received my application but they were in town and doing applicant interviews and wanted me to meet them the next day.
I went and not only got an interview but got a key to my new home and it was only 1 of 3 out of a complex of 25 -30 units that were move in ready. Construction was still being done on the other half.
The look of complete shock on my family’s face when I told them God did exactly what He said He would was quite hilarious.
Prayer changes things. This story was not a life-or-death situation. I know many are. God has shown up for me in ways I can’t even explain over and over again.
The best part is God doesn’t have favorites. If He will show up for me when I come to Him in prayer He will show up for you too. It doesn’t matter if it’s life or death or something as simple as an apartment in a better neighborhood. He will do it for you!
Be sure to give Him all the Glory when He does so that everyone will know!
Mark 11:24, James 5:16, Colossians 4:2
**Lord thank You for never leaving me. For always looking out for my best interest and knowing what I need and exactly when I need it. I pray to always come to You before I even try to worry about anything Lord. In Jesus name I pray, Amen**
