Protect Yourself

Protect Yourself

John 10:10

10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

Steal, Kill & Destroy

The devil is a liar. He can take words that are spoken and manipulate them before they get to your ears, so you hear something that was not intended by someone else. He takes feelings you have expressed and turns them into negative thoughts that can consume you if you don’t put a stop to it.

The enemy’s sole purpose is to steal, kill and destroy. That applies to everything. But He can only have what we allow Him to.

Fog Brain

The funny thing is we know this. This is something we have been told time and time again but when he starts in on us it’s like we forget everything we have learned and a fog settles over our minds and we can’t think clearly.

There is almost a faint whisper of the words we know trying to get through in our mind but sometimes the fight with the enemy gets so hard nothing can get through that fog. I know that must seem so confusing but there is a way to fight him during those times no matter how hard the devil tries to make it.

Pay Attention

Pay attention to what you allow to be put into your mind. The shows we watch, the music we listen to and how much of God’s word we put in will all help determine how you get through an enemy attack like what I have described above.

There is nothing wrong with you. As a matter of fact, if you are being fought that hard mentally, spiritually, emotionally and even physically it’s because he knows there is something good inside of you and wants to destroy it.

Think about how often random songs pop into your head. Music can change your mood and change your thinking. Imagine what music with scripture in it could do during a time like this. Have you ever randomly thought about something you read in a book, or saw on TV or the internet?

Taking control of what you allow into your mind and spirit will make all the difference in your life.

Luke 10:19, Exodus 14:14, 2 Corinthians 10:5

**Lord thank You for reminding me that You have given me power and authority over the enemy in my life. Remind me when that fog rolls in that I don’t have to settle for what he is trying to do. Lord remind me of the scriptures I’ve read and help me to stand and fight. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. **
