Reasonable Service

Reasonable service

Romans 12:1-2

12 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Reasonable Service

“That you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.” Wow!

Are we sacrificing ourselves and our wants to God and what He wants? Are we living holy? Are the things we do and the words we speak acceptable to God? This scripture calls that our reasonable service. Meaning it’s not asking too much.

We Were Made To

Sometimes we think that we are doing this huge thing by being a Christian and are somehow doing God a favor. Not only is it a gift, but loving God, praising Him and sacrificing our wants for Him and His will is exactly what we were made to do. That got lost somewhere between trying to have nice homes and cars and keeping up with the latest clothing trend. There’s nothing wrong with having those things, as long as you are giving yourself to the Lord the way He intended you to.

He Always Makes a Way

It’s easy to get wrapped up in the things of this world without realizing it at first. The good news is, just like His word says, He will make a way out to get you back where you need to be. You can do that by renewing your mind with God’s Word. What are the things that bombard your mind? Find scripture on those things. What are you struggling with? Anger? Depression? Pride? Jealousy? Whatever it is, God’s Word has a lot to say that can help you. Dig in and let it transform your mind and get you back on the right track.

1 Corinthians 10:13, 2 Corinthians 10:5, 1 John 1:9

**Lord thank You for never leaving me where I’m at, even if I put myself there. I ask that you give me the determination to stay in Your Word and to grow in You Lord. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. **
