See For Yourself

See for yourself

Proverbs 3:3

3 Let not mercy and truth forsake you; Bind them around your neck,

Write them on the tablet of your heart,

See For Yourself

Have you ever heard someone say something that sounded pretty accurate only to find out they were actually wrong? I see so many Facebook posts with scripture that is quite inaccurate. People will share it a million times over because it sounds good, but they just don’t know any better because they never look in the Word for themselves.

God’s Word is your weapon against the enemy. Are you having overwhelming thoughts? Are you struggling with gossip or anger? Do you just not understand a lot of things? The answer to all of it is in the Bible.

Do Not Add or Take Away

I know there are many different versions of the Bible out there. I also know that people want words they are familiar with because they believe it will help them better understand it. Two different times in the Bible it says do not add to or take away from anything in His Word. I would not take that lightly.

It might be a good idea to keep the original (kjv) around to make sure words have not been manipulated. God meant what He said the first time. Who are we to make it mean anything else?

There will come a day when the only Word we have is what we have taken in for ourselves and written on our heart. Read it for yourself.

Ephesians 6:17, Deuteronomy 4:2, Revelation 22:18-19

**Lord thank You for Your living Word! God, I ask that You give me a determination in my heart and mind to dig deeper into your word. Help me to understand the words I am reading and keep them written in my heart forever. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. **
