True Love
1 Corinthians 13:4-7
4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Take a moment and read that scripture over again. Really read it piece by piece. Love suffers long and is kind. Love does not envy. Love does not parade itself, is not puffed up. Love does not behave rudely. Love does not seek its own. You get the picture.
More Than Just Words
I think most of the time when we read this scripture we skim over it quickly because we hear it so much. The scripture , or rather pieces of it, are used as quotes for wall hangings or kitchen towels. It means so much more.
Love One Another
We are called to love one another. Not just our friends or our spouse but everyone. Scripture says let all that you do be done in love. Well This scripture says love is not rude, love thinks no evil and it bears and endures all things. If we look at the world today, or even just our own lives, can we honestly say we are truly walking in love?
No Man Is Perfect
We all sin. We all make mistakes, But the difference between a sin and a mistake is one you keep doing and the other you learn and turn away from. Are we paying attention, when we find ourselves not walking in love, and trying to seek God to help us correct it? Or are we moving right along?
Let this be something that digs deep down inside of you. Something that holds on until there is a true lasting change in the way we treat others.
1 Corinthians 16:14, Matthew 22:36-40, 1 Peter 4:8
**God please forgive me for not always loving like You have commanded me to. I ask that You immediately convict me anytime my actions toward another deviate from what Your Word says love is. I pray that the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to You Lord. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. **
