Wait
Isaiah 40:31
31 But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.
Waiting
How many times have you gotten frustrated with waiting? Waiting in line, waiting on the phone. What about waiting for God to do something, maybe change someone or a situation. I think it’s safe to say that we have all been there at some point, if we aren’t there right now.
Can’t Lie To God
They say that patience isn’t just about waiting, but how you act while you are waiting. I spent around 6 years waiting on God to do a miracle for our family. I prayed until I didn’t think I could pray anymore. There were a lot of times when I knew that God was not finished, but I tried to pretend He was. I tried to jump ahead of Him and act like everything was just the way I’d been praying for, and how He showed me it would be. You can lie to yourself and others but you can’t lie to God.
Don’t Make a Mess
Every time we jump ahead of God and try to make things happen sooner than they are meant to, it takes those things that much longer. Why? Because God has to go and clean up the mess you made trying to do it yourself, and put you right where you were when you left Him.
Be Encouraged
Waiting is hard. It can be discouraging and frustrating, but God will renew your strength during your time of waiting. He does not forget about you in your waiting period. In fact those are the times He is closer than ever! He sees what we can not see. Wait on the Lord and let Him work out every perfect detail!
John 15:5, Philippians 4:13, Psalm 27:14
***Lord thank you for never leaving or forsaking me. Thank you for giving me the strength to keep holding on while I wait on You. Encourage me Lord in my waiting. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. ***
