What Are You doing?

What Are You Doing?

Matthew 11:28-29

28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

What Are You Doing?

What are you doing that is not fruitful? Meaning what are you doing that is not producing good results?

That is the question I found bouncing around in my mind this morning. It has been a busy and quite overwhelming week but why is the question.

Sometimes we have to sit back and look at all of the things we are doing. And ask ourselves if they are producing good results? Are the hobbies we have yielding anything good for us, our family or others? Are the things we allow to fill up space in our minds weighing us down or lifting us up? Are we allowing our personal, self made, to do list to take over every other area of our lives thus causing chaos and aggravation in those neglected areas?

 What Do You Do?

So, if we are finding ourselves overwhelmed how do we know what to set aside? How do we figure out which is most important, and which can wait until later when you have the time to do it?

I think that’s the question we all ask ourselves frequently. Do you want to know the answer? Seek God first.

Matthew 6:33 says to seek Him first and all these things shall be added unto you. Sure that scripture sounds like “getting stuff”, Peace is a thing, sound mind to be able to properly prioritize is a thing, and the wisdom to know what is worth doing and what isn’t is most definitely a thing.

Make The Choice

So, if you’re like me today and have found you have a long running list, no time and it feels like you just can’t do it all but feel like you have too, let’s make the choice to seek Him first. Let’s put prayer and time in His word first so everything else will stay on track. Anything that falls off the track after putting Him first wasn’t meant to be there in the first place.

Matthew 6:33, Philippians 4:6-7, John 15:5

**Lord thank You for always helping me when I find myself in overwhelming places. Thank You for your peace and comfort when it feels like I just can’t keep going. Help me to always remember that spending time with You, in Your word is a priority that shouldn’t fall off track. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. **
