What Do They See?

What Do They See?

Galatians 5:22-23

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

What Do They See?

Have you ever wondered, “What do people see when they look at me?” I’ve been asking myself that question a lot lately.

Most of the time we like to say we don’t care what someone else’s opinion is of us. I agree with that to an extent. We should never allow our lives, our decisions or how we feel about ourselves be dictated by someone else’s opinion.

Are You Showing Fruit?

However, what kind of person we are, is very important. Are we showing the fruit of the Spirit? Are we exercising peace and longsuffering? What about kindness and goodness?

See, it’s easy to seem to have those fruits when everything is going your way and you are in the presence of people who don’t get on every single nerve God gave you, but what about when   it’s not all good?

What about when you are standing before someone who is mean and hateful, and you’d rather walk away than show them any amount of kindness. What about when traffic is just ridiculous, and your making mean faces and yelling in your car even though you know they can’t hear you? Are you being peaceful and patient then?

Reflect

Let today’s devotion have you take a moment of reflection and prayer. If we want to reach the world and tell them who Jesus is and what He can do, they need to see it in our behavior before they will ever listen to our words.

Matthew 7:15-20, Galatians 5:19-21, Matthew 6:33

**Lord thank You for bringing things like this to my attention. Please forgive me for the times when I have shown more flesh than Spirit. I ask that You help me to do better, because on my own I can’t do it. I want to be an effective witness for You, so others can be helped. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. **
