What Has He Given You?
Luke 16:2
2 So he called him and said to him, ‘What is this I hear about you? Give an account of your stewardship, for you can no longer be steward.’
What Has He Given You?
Reading His Word
I have been reading out of Luke this month. Since about October the Lord has really impressed upon me to read this book, and to be honest I rolled my eyes a bit. Not because I didn’t want to read the Bible, but because I’ve read this chapter a few times.
Especially at Christmas. You know the whole 20 something chapters thing and the story of Jesus and all. Anyways! I began reading and to be totally honest with you it’s like I’m reading things I’ve never read before. God’s word truly is alive and always on time with a Word from Him.
What Does He Mean?
This morning while reading chapter 16 a question popped in my spirit. “What are you doing with what God has given you?” As I read on I realized that it wasn’t only talking about money, and how I spend it. That is a big part, but He also means the time and the spiritual gifts He has given me. Am I wasting a lot of the time I have watching T.V., or scrolling through Facebook, and videos on my phone, or am I using that time to be with Him and to help His people? Am I using the spiritual gifts He has given me to help and be an encouragement to others or do I put them on the shelf and only pull them out when I have an opportunity to be seen or heard by others?
Something To Think About
It was definitely something for me to think about. God has given me many opportunities, and second chances. If I’m not careful, and I misuse what I have, there will come a time when He takes the things He has given me, and hands them over to someone who will use them the way He intends for them to be used.
Luke 16:10, Luke 16:13, Luke 12:48
***Father, thank you for the gifts and opportunities that you have blessed me with. I ask for Your forgiveness because Lord I know I have not done what I should with those things You have given me. Please help me Lord, show me what you would have me do with what I have so I can help others and please you. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.***
