But God
Genesis 8:1: “But God remembered Noah and all the wild animals and the livestock that were with him in the ark, and he made a wind blow over the earth, and the waters receded.”
Jonah 2:6: “To the roots of the mountains I sank down; the earth beneath barred me in forever. But you, LORD my God, brought my life up from the pit.”
Acts 7:9: “But God was with him and rescued him from all his troubles.” (Referring to Joseph)
Acts 13:30: “But God raised him from the dead.”
Romans 5:8: “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Genesis 50:20: “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good…” (Joseph to his brothers)
Hard Times
We face a lot of hard things during our lifetime. Things we feel like will take us under and we can’t see any possible way for good to come out of it. In each of these scriptures above there was something pretty serious going on.
Noah had to trust God pretty deeply to not only build this huge boat but allow himself and his family to be shut up in it with no guarantee that they would be getting out.
Joseph had no idea what his future held. If he were to go off of what he could see of his current circumstances most people would have gone crazy and possibly killed themselves. His brothers hated him and sold him into slavery. He was lied on and thrown in jail. But God!!!
But God
What is your “but God” moment? Have you had one yet or are you holding on to hope that one is right around the corner? Let me encourage you today, do not give up! I don’t care how bad it looks or what everyone says. God always has the final say.
His word says that He will work out everything for good to those who love Him (Romans 8:28).
Take some time to read about others “but God” moments in the Bible today and allow it to remind you that hard times don’t last forever even if it feels like they do.
**Lord thank You for never leaving me especially in my darkest times. I ask that you give me peace, strength and Your grace to endure the trials I am having to face because I know that You will show up and turn it all around for my good. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. **
