Where Is Your Mind?

 Where Is Your Mind?

Colossians 3:1-11 New King James Version

3 If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. 2 Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.

5 Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. 6 Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience, 7 in which you yourselves once walked when you lived in them.

8 But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. 9 Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, 10 and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him, 11 where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free, but Christ is all and in all.

Lot’s Of Distractions

We have many things that have the opportunity to distract us all day long, every single day. But in the end, we are responsible for what we allow ourselves to think on. While we don’t produce every thought that drops into our mind, we have to make a decision with each one. Are we going to think on it and let it roll around in our mind or are we going to make sure we are thinking on the things of God and cast down whatever is not of Him?

What Do You Choose?

When we choose to seek those things which are above, we are choosing a pureness of heart. These scriptures go on to list all of the fleshly things, the human, selfish things that come easily to us, that are not Christ-like so when those things enter our minds, we are able to identify them as something that must me cast down. These thoughts come as a distraction to lure us away from the word of God and His ways.

Change Is Possible

Are you doing any of the things listed in the scriptures? If you have been then today can be the day you allow God to help you put an end to it. We have the opportunity to put to death sin and put on the new man. Will you make that choice today? Will you allow the Lord to come into your heart and change you into who He created you to be?

Are You Broken?

You don’t have to be perfect. As a matter of fact, He works best with those who have been broken to pieces. Why? Because that means He can put you right back together, the way He meant for you to be.

Romans 10:9, Ephesians 4:20-24, 1 John 1:9, 2 Corinthians 10:5

**Lord thank You for loving me even though I haven’t always done the right thing. I ask that You help me Lord to change and be who You created me to be. Help me to turn away from all the things that are nothing more than a distraction from You. I want what You want in my life. Forgive me for my sins Lord, help me, I can’t do it without You. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.**
