Once Saved Always Saved?

5 He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.

Heartbreaking

I came across something yesterday that disturbed me greatly in my Spirit. The comment was along the lines of saying that once you are saved you will always be saved and go to Heaven. I know that is not true. Not because someone told me so, but because of what I have read in God’s word over the years. 

As I worked through the feelings of grief I had over someone I love believing this awful lie the Lord brought this scripture to my mind. To be totally honest all I heard at first was “blot out”. I pondered on that phrase all evening because I knew that I had read it in His word. 

God’s Word!

And here it is. It says plain as day that he who overcomes will not have his name blotted out from the Book of Life. That means that it was once there. Which means yes, you can be saved and live for God, but that your actions, your choices can cause your name to be blotted out and the Lord say, depart from Me. 

Read It For Yourself!

I pray that you take time to study God’s word for yourself and allow His Spirit to guide you and correct you when it’s needed. Man will fail. Man will get it wrong. God never fails.

**Lord thank You for Your Spirit Who brings back all I have read and studied to make sure I am not fooled by the things of this world. Help me to always stay in a close personal relationship with You. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. **
