Just Do It
James 1:22
22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
It’s Simple
This scripture is plain and simple. Do what the Word says. We can read all the devotions in the world. Listen to all the sermons on every subject possible but if we walk away and don’t do what we have learned it is all pointless.
If we were to read on in the chapter, it would read that if we were doers of the word that we have heard we will be blessed.
The Word Says
The Word says that to know what good to do and do it not is sin. Which means once you hear what is in God’s word you are held accountable for it. If you hear that you shouldn’t gossip and you do, it’s a sin for you. If you hear or read that you shouldn’t steal or covet and you do it is sin.
But there are also sins that come from personal convictions. If God has specifically told you not to do something in your heart, no matter what everyone else in the church is doing, it is a sin for you to do it.
Has He convicted you of watching a certain show or listening to a specific song? He has a reason for everything, and it is usually because He is trying to protect you.
Read The Word
If you take the time to get into God’s word you will see that with your obedience to His Word comes blessings. Those blessings may not always come in the form of “things” or money, but they might just come looking like your children being spared from something terrible. They might come in the form of a new friendship. You never know.
Just remember if you know what He says to do and you don’t do it that is sin. Sin must be repented of in order to walk into Heaven. I know I wouldn’t want to miss Heaven because I didn’t feel like doing something I should have.

**Lord thank You for Your grace and mercy that You show me daily. I pray that if there is anything I am not doing I should be that You reveal it to me Lord so I can repent and do things the right way. I want what You want in my life. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. **
