How Do You Feel?
Psalm 51:10-12
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.
11 Do not cast me away from Your presence, And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, And uphold me by Your generous Spirit.
How Do You Feel About Sin
Does sin make you sad? When you sin yourself do you feel a sadness inside that you want to make right? Do you feel sad when you see those you love fall into sin? What do you believe sin to be?
Sin is any action, thought or attitude that goes against God’s law.
The World & Sin
Most of the things the world today is trying to force us to be ok with is really sin. Abortion, homosexuality, sex before marriage, common law marriage (which is not an actual marriage), drinking, legalized drugs (which includes alcohol). Seeing naked people on tv at any given moment. Constant cursing whether it be on tv, in places of business or anywhere.
For years the rest of the world has tried to desensitize us to sin. Is it working on you? Are you grieved when you think about it? Do you do what you can to avoid all of those things to the best of your ability? Do you refuse to watch shows or listen to music that are totally based around sin? Are you accepting of blatant sin in your home?
What Can You Do?
While we can’t control the actions of others and we hate the sin itself and not the person who has committed it, we aren’t supposed to be supportive of a sinful lifestyle because it dishonors God. Not only is your own sin grieving the Lord but your support of someone else’s sinful lifestyle is as well.
Maybe your sin doesn’t bother you that much. You may have people you love very much and are choosing to support them even though what they are doing is displeasing to God. If that is the case then the truth is you have strayed away from the Lord.
You can get back where you need to be today. This scripture is a prayer asking God to cleanse your heart and put you back into right standing with Him. You will have to stand up and say no to somethings, but the real question is are all of those things worth missing Heaven for?
1 Corinthians 6:9-11, Ephesians 5:18, Matthew 6:22-23
**Lord thank You for the spirit of conviction that brings me back to where I need to be so that I may repent and come back into a right relationship with You Oh Lord. I ask that You give me boldness and a determination to stand firm on Your ways and what Your word says when the time comes. God I don’t want to miss Heaven for any reason, no matter what the rest of the world says is ok. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.**
