So Many Emotions

So Many Emotions

Psalm 42:11

11 Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; For I shall yet praise Him, The help of my countenance and my God.

God Given

Our emotions are God given. He created every single part of us and the part of us that creates our emotions is no different. However, we must be very careful not to let our emotions rule our lives.

Mad, Sad, Happy, Angry we can feel many different ways and there is nothing wrong with that. It is, however, our responsibility to take a moment before we act or speak out of our emotions and submit them to God.

Emotions Are Not Wrong

Sure it’s not wrong to feel anger but what you say and do because of that anger could be wrong. While you might not say ugly or unkind words to people, the attitude and tone you take could very well cause problems and that is also wrong.

Being sad is not a negative emotion but if you allow it to it can and will consume you. You have the power to choose the thoughts you think on. Just because the thought falls into your mind does not mean you have to keep it there. Think good thoughts on purpose. Find scriptures that are the opposite of those negative thoughts and pray and speak them out loud. The more the enemy sees how much you allow sad and depressing thoughts to overtake you the more he will drop them into your mind hoping you continue to choose to think them.

Submit Them To God

Every emotion we have needs to be compared to God’s word. Every thought we think about ourselves or someone else should also be compared to His word. If what’s in His word is not what you’re thinking then you need to take control and begin to think and speak what it does say.

Take control over  your emotions today! Remember whatever you give more focus to in your life is what will grow. Let it be what the word of God says.

Psalm 43:5, Psalm 30:5, Luke 10:19

**Lord thank You for always providing a way of escape for me in every situation. Remind me when I find myself allowing my emotions to take over that You have given me power and authority over them and then guide me on what to do next. I want what You want in my life, Lord. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. **
