What Do You Want?
1 Corinthians 15:58
58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
Do you want how you live your life to be pleasing to God?
It’s such a simple question and we would probably answer very quickly that yes, we do want to live our lives pleasing to God.
How Do You Live?
My next question would be do we? Do we live a life that He would be pleased by. If He looked down while we were at home or out with friends or talking on the phone with our best friend, would He be pleased by the things we say and do? If He looked into your heart right now, would He be pleased with what He saw?
Life is hard. We have lots of opinions around us all day long and if we are not careful, we will allow those opinions and the actions of the majority control how we live our lives. More often than not the opinions and actions of the majority are not pleasing to God. His word says narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life.
Choices
You are faced with choices each day. The deciding factor in every choice should be, “Is this pleasing to God?”. If the answer is not a definite “yes” without hesitation, then you already know your answer.
Each time we choose to say no to something we know is not pleasing to God it will become a little easier the next time. Each time you say yes to something you know He wouldn’t like, but you just felt like doing it, will make it that much harder to say no the next time.
So, I ask again, do you want how you live your life to be pleasing to God?
Matthew 7:13-14, 1 Corinthians 16:13, 1 Peter 5:9
**Lord thank You for always pulling me back to where I need to be when I allow myself to become distracted by the world. Show me anything in my life that is not pleasing to You and help me to change it, Lord. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
