Seasons Change

Seasons Change

Philippians 4:11-13

11 Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: 12 I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. 13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Seasons of Life

Life is full of seasons. I’m not talking about spring, summer, fall and winter. I mean spiritual, emotional and financial seasons. There are seasons of your life where the kids are doing great, the bills are all paid on time, no one is sick, and your relationships are going well. There are other seasons where one, or seemingly all of those things are going wild. I’m sure we have all been through times where it seemed like all of those areas stood in a single file line and took their turn shaking you up one after another.

I don’t think there will ever be a time when everything runs smoothly for a long period of time. But we have a guarantee that we don’t have to do it on our own. The Lord strengthens us through each thing so we can make it through.

A Good Example

See, if we never faced any of those things. If life was great the majority of the time we would never learn how to behave properly during difficult times. Our children would never be able to follow our example and learn how to do things right.

Control

We can’t control the cost of living. We can’t control the decisions and behaviors of other people and to be truthful no matter how well you eat or how many vitamins you take you can’t control when sickness comes to your front door. What we can control is how we choose to handle those situations and what we learn from them.

Help

Are you struggling today? Have the seasons of your life thrown you for a loop and you just want things to calm down and run smoothly. Even if it’s just for a little while? Be encouraged that the seasons will eventually change just like summer turns into fall. You are not alone, and God will help you through.

Deuteronomy 31:6, Ecclesiastes 3:1, Philippians 4:19

**Lord thank You for reminding me that You are always present no matter what season of life I am currently in. Thank You for strengthening me and directing me in difficult times. Help me to remember that seasons change but You never do Lord. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. **

Control is key! We can’t control what gets thrown at us but how we control loud thoughts and actions concerning those events will determine the extent of our victory and the lessons learned.
