Just One
Romans 5:19
19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous.
Adam & Jesus
By Adam’s disobedience in the garden we were all made sinners, but by Jesus being obedient to His Father and going to the cross we all have the opportunity to be made righteous. How powerful the act of one person can be.
Our actions reach farther than we could ever imagine. We have many choices all throughout the day and we don’t realize that every one of those choices affects so many different people in many different ways. Our obedience to God can bless our family for many generations to come while our disobedience to God can curse in the same way.
Thy Will Be Done
I think about the prayer Jesus prayed before He went to the cross. He asked the Father if it was possible for Him to not have to do this. Jesus didn’t want to face what was coming. He did not want to do it! But Jesus said nevertheless Thy will be done. Even though His feelings were screaming “no I don’t want to” His spirit followed God’s will.
We don’t have to feel like doing whatever it is God leads us to do. We don’t have to want to obey His commandments. But we should remember that every choice we make now affects those we love and those for generations to come. Will you choose to obey Him today?
1 Samuel 15:23, Joshua 7:10-26
**Lord thank You for the reminder of how important obedience to You really is. Never let me forget that every choice I make affects more people than just myself and will continue to affect them for many years to come. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. **
