Are You Gifted?
Romans 12:3
3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.
Matthew 23:11-12
11 But he who is greatest among you shall be your servant. 12 And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.
Everyone Is
We have all been given specific gifts and talents. Everyone is good at something different. Some are good at computer skills while others have more physical abilities. You may be very good with people while others are not gifted as much in that area.
Be grateful for the gifts and abilities God has given you but never look down on someone for not being able to do the same things, the same way you do. Two people can have the same gift, talent or ability and God has them use those things in two completely different ways.
What’s It For?
Every single gift, talent or ability we have been given is not so we can be seen. They were not given to us so we could become rich and have everything we ever wanted. Nope. Each one was given to serve others and glorify God in the process.
There are many who don’t use their gifts to glorify God and others who look down on those who can’t do what they do. God will humble the proud in His timing and it would do us best to mind our own business in that situation.
What Are You Doing?
Being a full-time mother is a gift. So is being a teacher, a daycare worker. Even the cashier at the grocery store has a gift and it just might be the smile on their face. Never underestimate the things God uses others to do.
What gifts, talents and abilities have God given you? Are you using them in a way that is pleasing to the Lord?
**Lord, thank You for the gifts, talents and abilities you have given me to serve others and glorify You. If I am using any of those in a way that is not pleasing to You I ask that you show me so that I may repent and do what You would have me to do Lord. I want to help others and glorify You. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. **
