Don’t Say It!
We do not have to say everything that pops into our mind. I know that probably seems shocking but it’s absolutely true. You won’t burst if you hold in the things you want to say. To be truthful whoever you want to say it to either already knows or the Lord will show them eventually at the right time.
Self-Control
We like to make jokes about our lack of self-control where our mouths are concerned and say things like “well, if it comes up it comes out.” The truth is we are allowing our flesh to take control over us and the situation and most times we say things that will cause chaos and we will most likely have to apologize for later.
Life & Death
God’s word says that life and death are in the power of the tongue. We have been given a great responsibility if the Lord has blessed us with the boldness to be able to speak out. The thing is we have to be willing to submit our mouths to Him and let God use them for the purpose which He created.
A Gift
He did not give us boldness and a big mouth to put others down or to rudely tell everyone else what to do because we think or might truly know better. Just as with all gifts from God they are to be used to further His kingdom not our flesh.
