Let’s Be Better
Today I have compiled a list of scriptures to focus on to be a better Christian and a better person. I hope it helps you as much as it does me. God’s word says in Matthew 7:15-20, “you will know them by their fruits”.
Ephesians 4 New King James Version
4 I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, 2 with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, 3 endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
Galatians 5:18-26 New King James Version
18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. 24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.
Proverbs 19:11 New King James Version
11 The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger,
And his glory is to overlook a transgression.
Matthew 18:21-22 New King James Version
21 Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” 22 Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.
** Lord, thank You for Your word that gives me all I need to do what You have called me to do. I pray that these scriptures bless all who read them with conviction and realization so change can take place. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.**
